Any Day Now...

So, Hi!
I know it's been awhile but I thought I'd save you any boring details and get right to the puppy action!
So since the last post, Zoey has been gaining weight rapidly. She started out at 9 or 10 pounds and now she's 16 1/2 pounds!

...I could tell just this last week that it started slowing her down.. There she is all pregnant and miserable..
Poor girl.

This last Tuesday, she went in for an xray so we could get a puppy count! :)
I was SO excited when the doc told me that 4 were on the way!

..BUT...
The more and more I looked at this xray when I got it home.. it seems like there are more than 4..

There were definetly more than 4 spines in there.. so we'll see! 4 was actually the most I expected for her first, but 5 or 6 wouldn't be too bad either.. :)
I've been taking her temp a couple times a day.. So far, only 100 straight across. As soon 98 or 97 hits, I know it'll be go time!

We've emptied our entire closet and bought a bunch of little fuzzy blankets to fill it with. She's been digging around in it quite a bit, and I'm hoping she'll go right in the moment labor hits!
Most of the time, I find Snuffy in there napping :)
I couldn't just shoo him out, could I?!
I'm predicting babies will be here Sunday or Monday, So next post will be welcoming the New year, AND the babies!
Have a good one!

Meet the Parents!

Hello!
I've created this blog to show off my West Highland White Terriers!
I own two, both registered AKC and CKC
and oh! By the way, my female, Zoey, is pregnant!
So you get to see puppies!
I'm going to take a lot of video and photos of the parents and their puppies
for everyone to see!
:]

So here they are..

This is Zoey: (top is most recent)

There I used a great dye for pets (nontoxic) by Top Performance! She sat very still for this to my surprise..
Anyway, Zoey is the older of the two, by 3 weeks.. and is definetly the more feisty one. She defines the "NON lapdog" role in the house.. and is also the most unpatient for grooming (which by the way.. I'm her groomer!) Not sure if that plays part in it.. but nontheless, she's a firecracker! I'm hoping her energy will ensure she'll be a good mother!

Side Note: The photo of the westie pup heading my blog is Zoey the first day I got her at 8 weeks!

Cute, I know.

And Snuffleupagus.. (Well, Snuffy.)

He's the Lover :) ... the first one at me when I walk in the door, LIVES for cuddling, and definetly evens Crazy Zoey out! I'm glad that he's still carrying this same attitude, even now, while Zoey's been in heat.. instead of aggressive snappyness that everyone said he could be..

So there's mommy and daddy :]

It happened out of surprise when I arrived home from work on Halloween..

And by counting the days to the Google's average answer of 62 days, she should be due the first week of January!

I plan on taking her for an ultrasound/xray near the mid of December to see how many pups are coming.

I'll keep you posted!
